It appears that the world of Android modding is about to become a riskier hobby. According to AndroidandMe.com one of the Android communities biggest modders recently received a cease and desist request from Google thus halting any further progress on the Cyanogen Mod.  Cyanogen’s tweaked Android OS allowed extra features such as  installing downloaded apps to the SD card and had general speed improvements. It appears that the new features didn’t bother Google as much as him distributing their closed-source applications like Gmail and Youtube.  Be sure to read the full story over on AndroidandMe.
